Nashi Orchards Japanese Styled Wedding Shoot

One of our favorite locations to plan weddings is on Vashon Island, and Nashi Orchards is absolutely no exception. These beautiful cherry blossoms trees in full bloom inspired us to do a styled shoot incorporating Japanese stylings and details. Planned by Vashon Wedding Planner, Mandy of New Creations Weddings. New Creations Weddings specializes in Asian and Pacific Islander wedding planning.

Vashon Island is a little oasis just a ferry ride away from busy life in the Seattle/Tacoma area. It is a slower pace of life that encourages you to enjoy the simpler things in life. For the styled shoot, the inspiration came from the Asian Pear tree orchards and Japanese style house at Nashi Orchards. I wanted to highlight the natural beauty of the venue, let the pear be the star and pull in a few elements to honor the Japanese culture. The whole day was a dream and made all of us want to dine al fresco for all our meals.

We are proud to say this wedding was featured on Bridal Musings! Let us know what you think of this shoot in the comments below!

The subtle colors yellows, greens and browns of the pear were used as a palate throughout the shoot. I am a big fan of print linens and have loved the Marrakesh linen from La Tavola for some time. It paired so well with their Curry Velvet napkins and wood and gold details from Fanciful Rentals. Herban Bloom kept the florals simple with white and green springs blooms to not distract from the trees fully in bloom and Herban Feast made a cheese and charcuterie board that was drool worthy and went so well with the Perry made on site.

To honor the Japanese culture, our model wore both a vintage kimono (provided generously from the venues personal collection) and a custom dress with a kimono style back along with a pearl necklace and pear green Montana Sapphire ring from Green Lake Jewelry Works. Lisa Boehm Beauty kept her hair and makeup clean and classic with a pop of color on the lip. We hung 1001 cranes around the orchard and gardens that blew in the wind around our table setup within the orchard itself. Pomp and Revel beautifully engraved all the wood and leatherette stationary with a Sakura pattern with a hidden Japanese love symbol along wooden chopsticks as the place cards that rested on mini white cranes. And Midori Bakery's white on white cake with flying cranes and sugar pear blossoms really spoke to the simplistic beauty of the venue.
