Rebecca's Wedding at Blue Ribbon Culinary in Seattle

Well, after 8 years of being married and having my business for even longer, I figured it was finally time to show you my wedding day, lol!  So here you have it, my 2010 wedding day.  Surrounded with only close family and friends (our total guest count was 86), my husband and I said "I Do" on a 75 degree sunny Seattle May day.

Anyone who follows me on social media, knows I am a lover of color, so incorporating my favorite colors of oranges, greens and ivories into our wedding day was only natural.  What I wish I would have done is taken a deeper look at the actual decor pieces the venue was going to use, as their versions of my color palette were quite a bit different than what I had in mind (BRIGHT green chair sashes, and construction tape orange for our cake, for instance).  Oh well, live and learn, and now I can look back and laugh at it.  :)

My husband and I wanted to be sure to incorporate our story into the day, so you will see orchids in my bouquet and hair as a nod to my time living in Hawaii.  You will also see coffee beans in the base of candles and vases, and on the escort card tray.  My husband and I met when we were both store managers working for Starbucks.  We just had to bring in coffee because it was part of us.  Other items were Alaskan Amber beer since my husband is from Alaska, and Thomas Kemper Root Beer for me because I LOVE Root Beer.

One of our favorite things about the wedding venue was that they are located right on Lake Union, which means seaplanes can pull up to the dock right outside.  We took full advantage of this, and our "getaway" vehicle at the end of the night was a seaplane taking off from Lake Union.  Talk about a grand exit!  Our day was perfectly us, and that's what I love to do for my couples too is be sure that your story is told through little glimpses in your wedding day.  Would love to know what little touches you have planned in the comments below.
