Today was one of the sweetest parts of my job, literally. Joined by Christy and Darrin (my April, Laurel Creek Manor couple), we set out to attend one of Creme de la Creme‘s delicious cake tastings.
Many times a year, Creme de la Creme, located in Renton, WA, offers a complimentary cake tasting event for engaged couples to attend. Christy, Darrin and I have attended this delicious event a few months ago, but this time we were here to nail down flavor, design and coloring.
After going back and forth between the amazing carrot cake flavor that they had tasted at the last meeting, and the newly tasted chocolate cake with preserves, the chocolate won out.
Christy and Darrin picked a fabulous cake flavor of chocolate cake with marionberry preserve filling- perfect for their early Spring wedding.
We ended up choosing a 4-tier wedding cake for their approximately 100 person guest count in a white frosting with pearl spray. Christy has opted for a more champagne color wedding dress, and we didn’t want a traditional white cake to look ‘off’ when she was standing next to it for photos.
All 4 tiers will be stacked one on top of another and embellished with silver and plum ribbon in their wedding colors. Above the ribbon will be Creme de la Cremes custom ‘Pendleton’ design in the same pearlized color.
Topping off the cake will be white and purple orchids (their wedding flowers), provided by Rebecca Williams of Perpetual Posies Floral Design. I am looking forward to seeing (and tasting!) this beautiful choice for their wedding cake!
The photo is another cake provided from Creme de la Creme from Paul and Vanessa’s Salish Lodge wedding.
Beautiful work Creme de la Creme! Keep up the sweet work!
