What a wedding this was! I cannot even begin to tell you the amazingness of not only the details of this day, but what a pleasure it was to work with this couple and family. Kicking off my first wedding of 2017, Kelly Koopmans (yes, of KOMO 4 News) and her husband Michael Scholl set out to create a grand, yet approachable wedding day, and I think we nailed it! Check out these details!
The start to the day was one of the most endearing start I've ever had to any wedding day. From custom vow books, to KOMO's weatherman, Seth Wayne (a Bridesman), having one of the best reactions to seeing the Bride, all the way to the custom monogram on each girls bouquet; it was absolute perfection.
To keep the color palette simple and classic, we opted to for black, white, and gold for the wedding day color scheme. I love how elegant the wedding party looked with the Bridesmaid black dresses and the guys' classic black tuxes. And did you checkout Kelly's gown!? Yes, the tulle skirt portion of the gown unsnaps to reveal a 2nd reception sheath gown. Pretty awesome!
The details were just so stunning beginning with this custom invitation suite from Paper Passionista. We carried over the simple color schedule, but gave it a lot of personality. Kelly and Michael's custom monogram was brought into the ensemble as the envelope closure, and opened up to an elegant gold and white invitation.
Of course we had to bring in Kelly's news background one way or another, so a simple nod was made to this with their newspaper wedding programs. Having gone to school in Pullman, the "headline" caught guests attention as it paid homage to their relationship love story- "From Pullman and Cows to Wedding Vows." The program was loaded with engagement photos, their love story, puzzles, and wedding party and family details.
The room completely transformed from the ceremony to the reception and it dazzled guests upon their return! Mirrored tabletops accentuated sparkling candlelight. Simple clean white floral centerpieces, custom round menu (with their monogram of course), and of we cannot leave out the star of the show- Chihuly's chandler installation reflecting off the tops of the tables. It was just spectacular!
The party kicked off with a toast from Kelly's dad to the tune of Hamilton (complete with a surprise costume). From there it got turned up a notch with tunes to the Michael Benson Band- they kept the dance floor hopping and wowed the guests with spot on covers. Sock favors were brought out for those late night tired dancing feet, featuring the monogram, of course. :)
As if the wedding wasn't specular enough, Kelly and Michael exited the party in style jumping into a one of only 2 made in the WORLD Rolls Royce (pretty nice to have a guy) to wedding bliss.
What a joy it was to help these two tie the knot. I could not have asked for a better couple to start my 2017 wedding season with. Thank you Kelly and Michael for welcoming me into your day, your family, and your future.
